The International Association of Food Protection (IAFP) meeting is here again. The meeting will take place in St. Louis, MO and begin Sunday, July 31 at 7:00 pm and continue until mid-day on Wednesday, August 3, 2016.
This year’s agenda includes topics such as antibiotic resistance, next generation sequencing (NGS), hygienic equipment design and many others.
Neogen’s presentations include topics on pathogen detection: NGS service for Salmonella serotyping, lateral flow devices for Salmonella Group D1 (including Salmonella enteritis), and a new rapid Campylobacter assay using isothermal amplification of DNA. Neogen continues to develop and improve upon pathogen detection technologies. For example, NeoSeek utilizes next generation sequencing, specifically targeted amplicon sequencing to look for key regions of a salmonella DNA to identify which serotype the isolate belongs.
In the Allergen Management and Control in Retail and Food Service session, Neogen’s Tony Lupo will be discussing indicator allergens and verification testing in the retail setting. Join Tony on August 1 at 11:30 am in room 220-221. He will also be covering the use of Neogen’s Reveal 3D allergen test kits and verification using testing methods or laboratories.
Neogen will also be exhibiting at booth #711 where we will be showcasing new products. These include innovations in our dehydrated culture media solutions (hint: easy pathogen enrichments), and improved sanitation monitoring software. Neogen continues to provide improvements for food safety professionals that make life easier, and provide better information.
