Welcome to the Neogen’s equine botulism blog!  So, who are we exactly?

Neogen’s Animal Safety Division is a made up of horse, pet and livestock owners, veterinarians, and all around passionate people who care for animals large and small. That’s why they work for Neogen, a leader in the development of animal genomics along with the manufacturing and distribution of a variety of animal healthcare products, including diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, veterinary instruments, wound care and disinfectants. We also are the makers of BotVax B, the only approved vaccine for botulism type B in horses.

Neogen’s animal safety group is based in Lexington, Ky., in the heart of horse country. Neogen is headquartered in Lansing, Mich., and employs more than 700 people in the U.S. and several international locations including Scotland, Brazil, Mexico and China.

What can I expect from this blog?

We strive to provide the most comprehensive information for those interested in equine botulism, from horse owners and veterinarians to industry groups and the public. Ultimately, our goal is to spread awareness of this often fatal disease and the best way to do that is to get information out there. In addition to botulism facts, the blog also will feature news and updates, articles from Neogen’s experts and stories from those whose lives have been affected by equine botulism.

Our company is made up of experts in the top of their fields, including animal care specialists, veterinarians, microbiologists, chemists, immunologists, and molecular biologists. With more than 30 years of experience, Neogen has a wealth of knowledge we would like to share with you.
